Andrew Pasterfield first represented Australia in 2007 at the Can-Am Championships in Canada and walked away with one gold and three bronze medals. With such fantastic results, who knows what Andrew is capable of if he reaches Beijing.
The National Championships in Brisbane also proved fruitful for Andrew, as he secured three silver medals and a bronze. As well as swimming, Andrew is a passionate cricketer and footballer who doesn’t allow his cerebral palsy to get in the way of his love for sport. He also enjoys going to the beach, driving his car and watching Little Britain.
Describing himself as easy-going, he admits that he broke into a sweat when a group of his friends and him got lost in bushland whilst on a school camp. He believes that was the scariest moment of his life while the funniest was being hit in the head during a football game with his friends.
Sport does not run in Andrew’s blood, as he is the first athlete in his family. However he is looking to do his family and country proud as he prepares for competition in Beijing.
