Strong-willed, independent and hard working, Jeremy Tidy wants to be one of the best disabled swimmers in the world. He finished fifth in the 200m individual medley and the 100m backstroke at the 2006 IPC World Swimming Championships and has held the Australian records for his class in the 200m individual medley, the 100m backstroke and the 50m freestyle.
Jeremy, who was born with spina bifida, has never competed at a Paralympic Games and is aiming for success in Beijing where he dreams of bringing home a medal.
He is the only athlete in his family of three and admits to being a clean freak. He also has a diploma in Film and Television and plans on pursuing a career in the field, outside swimming.
In 2005 he was named the Junior Nationals Male Swimmer of the meet and also won the Junior Nationals Louise Sauvage Champion Athlete of the Games award.
