Kate has been riding horses since she was eight years old. She first started in pony club, then moved to show riding where she received numerous championships in rider and hack classes and competed at royal level.
She became involved in Riding for the Disabled (RDA) in 2002 and competed at her first national championships, receiving first place and scores of over 70%.
In 2006, Kate made her international debut and competed in Para Equestrian events in England, Canada and Belgium. She placed in these events, including a win in the freestyle in Belgium as well as winning the British RDA Nationals. These results are even more impressive considering Kate competed on borrowed horses, which she had trained on for less then two weeks!
Kate’s goals include competing in the Grand Prix open company and to represent Australia at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games.
Away from equestrian, Kate is nearing completion of her Health Science degree and hopes to work as a sports psychologist.
