In her own words, champion swimmer Katrina Lewis is outgoing and fearless. Born ten weeks premature, she has mild cerebral palsy. She began swimming from an early age, competing at the 2004 Athens Paralympics at just 16 where she won a bronze medal in the 4×100 freestyle relay.
Katrina has enjoyed many other successes, including fifth place in the EAD 100m freestyle at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, five medals at the 2005 US Nationals, and ten medals at the 2005 Junior National Games for the Disabled in Sydney.
Katrina is also an up and coming make-up artist, currently studying make-up artistry at TAFE.
Katrina believes Petria Thomas has been the most influential in her swimming career and with a great role model in mind; she is aiming to break world records in her events at the 2008 Beijing Games.
