Madeleine Hogan is an expert at launching cricket balls into the air, and will be hoping to do the same with her javelins in Beijing at her first Paralympic Games.
Victoria has already benefited from the sporting services of Madeleine, who represented her state in a grand final match in the 2005/06 season against New South Wales. Getting off the mark from her second ball was a proud moment for her. These days, she is following the family tradition of excelling in athletics, following after her father and brother.
Madeleine balances her sporting commitments with a taste of the corporate world in her job as a receptionist and settlement clerk for a law firm. No doubt she brings some fun with her to the job, as she laughs a lot more than most people. Not many people can claim that they have spent an entire 40 minute remedial massage laughing.
Based on the above description, you wouldn’t think Madeleine was also a stamp collector, but that’s precisely what she does to unwind. “Yes, I get teased for it,” she adds. Hopefully along with collecting stamps she will be able to collect a medal for Australia in Beijing as well.
