Rebecca Julian is one of the most successful table tennis players in the country. Born with cerebral palsy, she was the first Australian to compete at the World Championships of the sport. She has since competed in a stream of competitions including the US Open and the Hong Kong Table Tennis Open in 2007.
Going to Switzerland for the International Para Table Tennis Committee World Championships and being accepted into the Paralympian Preparation Program were two major career highlights for Rebecca and she hopes the Beijing Paralympics will be a third.
Rebecca began competing in table tennis in 1999 and has continued to achieve in the sport ever since. She recently attained two silver medals in the Arafura Games in 2007 and was named the Table Tennis Australian AWD Best Player in 2004.
The strong willed individual is also a twin and Girls Brigade leader. She believes you should never give up and never surrender and with this attitude is aiming for a gold medal.
