Sarah Lazzarro believes you should never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game and with this determination, is striving for a gold medal in the table tennis at Beijing. At just 15 years of age, Sarah is already a successful athlete, having won eight gold medals at her first international competition, the 2007 Arafura Games in Darwin.
Sarah was born with Blount’s disease, a severe bone disease which bows the legs and worsens over time. She admires Australian singer Delta Goodrem for her determination in overcoming cancer and also enjoys her music. Like Delta, Sarah enjoys writing music as well as photography, art and spending time on her myspace page.
Never one to give up on her dreams, her goal of representing Australia at the Paralympic Games is about to come true as she hopes to mirror her Arafura Games success in Beijing.
