Sarah Rose first competed in swimming in 2001 after being inspired at the Sydney Paralympic Games. She represented Australia two years later at the Canadian National Championships.
Within a few short years, Sarah established herself as a successful Paralympian, returning home from her first Paralympics in Athens with a bronze medal in the 50m butterfly. Sarah is now one of the best swimmers in the world, holding the world record in the 100m butterfly and 100m individual medley. Sarah is a well respected member of the swimming team, her team members voting her to be one of their team captains. She was also listed in the 2007 Telstra Australian International All Star Swim Team.
Sarah trains six days a week for two hours each day. When she’s not training she works for the House with No Steps in Belrose, Sydney.
