What key life messages can your students learn from Paralympians?
The Paralympic Education Program(or PEP) -An education program produced by the Australian Paralympic Committee to develop students' knowledge of the Paralympic movement. or PEPParalympic Education Program - An education program produced by the Australian Paralympic Committee to develop students' knowledge of the Paralympic movement. was created in 2007 to help students and teachers learn more about Australian Paralympians, the Paralympic movement and people with disabilities.
There are a variety of FREE resources available including:
- 15 Primary integrated lesson plans (curriculum linked to each state/territory)
- 6 Secondary integrated lesson plans (curriculum linked to each state/territory)
- Teaching Welcome Kit (including DVD and poster)
- Opportunities to have a Paralympian visit your school for FREE through the PEP Talk program.
- Opportunities to have exclusive access to Paralympians via video-conferencing.
- Opportunities to receive free gift packs for your class.
- Plus … your students are free to explore our Primary Student and Secondary Student portals where they can experience the ParalympicsGames held in parallel (or beside) the Olympic Games for athletes with disabilities. firsthand through video, athlete interviews, games, quizzes,athlete blogs plus many more fun and interactive features.
To access these resources, we’ll need you to register first. Once registered, you can download the lesson plans and access all features of the program.
You’ll be able to select which features of the program you are interested in hearing about on an on-going basis so we won’t bother you with information you aren’t interested in.

‘Get Set’ Rydalmere East Primary School
As part of the ‘Get Set’ global initiative we have nominated Rydalmere East Public School, Ermington as our Australian representative school that will take part in the LOCOG ‘Get Set’ UK school linking program.
Paralympian cyclist Jayme Paris recently visited the school and met the students during a PEP Talk.
Rydalmere East PS students are encouraged and challenged to achieve their personal best in a positive atmosphere where participation, effort and achievement are recognized and rewarded. Congratulations on being selected!
